Renaissance takes Zamna Tulum's New Year's Eve on December 31, with Sasha, Maceo Plex, Sébastien Léger and Ida Engberg opening a ten-day season that marks the venue's tenth anniversary.

Sirsax, Vhaera and Unders complete the bill, according to a release issued Friday by The Exclusive Agency on behalf of the festival. The release provides no door time or ticket price for the night.

Until Friday, December 31 was the one date in the anniversary run that Zamna had on sale without a single name attached to it. The season opens in three months, and the ten days it spans fall at the front of Tulum's busiest stretch of the year.

Seven names on the Zamna Tulum New Year's Eve bill

Sasha has been attached to Renaissance since its early years, including the 1994 mix compilation with John Digweed that the label still cites as the record that made its name. Maceo Plex appears on Zamna's own list of artists who have played at the Tulum venue over the past decade. Sébastien Léger was on the bill in January 2022, when Renaissance brought its thirtieth anniversary to the same jungle.

Ida Engberg is the closest thing on this lineup to a full circle. She played the first Renaissance night at Zamna in January 2020, back-to-back with Adam Beyer.

Sirsax has turned up on almost every Renaissance date in Tulum since that debut, usually billed as the brand's resident. Unders and Vhaera round out the seven. The release describes the selection as representing the global progression of electronic music. That is the promoter's framing.

The season closes with Adam Port on January 10

Zamna's anniversary run covers December 31 to January 10 at the jungle venue on kilometer 200 of Highway 307, the stretch of road between Tulum and Felipe Carrillo Puerto where the festival has operated since 2017.

Three other dates carry names so far. Anyma brings his ÆDEN audiovisual show on January 4, announced on September 9 and ticketed separately from the rest of the run. Adriatique return on January 8 with their X concept, a year after their 2026 appearance. Adam Port closes the season on January 10.

The format matters for anyone planning the trip. Zamna is not a single festival with a single wristband. It is a sequence of standalone nights at the same site, each sold separately, which is why a visitor who wants both New Year's Eve and the closing night buys twice. The Multipass covers three event days of the buyer's choosing and is listed at $ 375 on the festival's events page, where Adriatique's night starts at $ 120 and Adam Port's at $ 90. Tickets for December 31 are sold through Tixr, either individually or as part of that pass.

Last season, the same date went to MRAK, who opened a run that stretched to January 11.

Renaissance has played this jungle since 2020

The label was founded in Mansfield, in the English midlands, in 1992, and its Tulum history is now almost as long as Zamna's own. Renaissance made its debut at the venue in January 2020 with Adam Beyer back-to-back with Ida Engberg, Charlotte de Witte, Dubfire and a sunrise set from Danny Tenaglia and Nicole Moudaber. It returned on January 4, 2021 for a rare Sasha and Hernán Cattáneo back-to-back, and again on January 9, 2022, when Renaissance 30 closed that season with Sasha, John Digweed, Sébastien Léger and Sven Väth.

Ben Böhmer headlined a Renaissance night at Zamna on April 30, 2023. The label's own events page lists its most recent Tulum appearance as January 1, 2025, at Vagalume, with Sasha again behind the decks.

Renaissance puts its own record at more than 1,500 events in 27 countries and over 80 mix compilations since 1992. Those are the company's figures.

Hoteliers spent the summer under 20 percent

The anniversary lands on a town that has had a long year. David Ortiz Mena, who presides over the Asociación de Hoteles de Tulum, said in September that beach road hotels had been running at under 20 percent occupancy since May and were expected to remain there into October. Quintana Roo's tourism information system put the destination as a whole at 45 percent for the week of September 5 to 11, a figure that folds in the inland hotels and small guesthouses the beach road does not count.

Ten nights of international electronic music in early January is the counterweight to that summer. Zamna says its Tulum editions draw hundreds of thousands of people a year from more than 100 countries, and the company reports over 500,000 registered users across its platform. They arrive in the same weeks the beach road has been waiting for since May.

Four dates in the anniversary run now have names. The rest do not, and Zamna has said the lineup will be published in stages before the season starts. Tickets for December 31 went on sale with the announcement.
