Tulum’s promotional strategies are expected to generate a successful spring break

As a consequence of the promotion of Tulum at the International Tourism Fair in Berlin (ITB) and also at the Tianguis Turístico in Mexico City next week, various sectors hope that these strategies will result in more tourism during the upcoming Holy Week season.

Antonio Paparela, hotel businessman, pointed out the importance of the presence of the private initiative and authorities to promote the diversity of Tulum’s tourist attractions. He mentioned that it is necessary to intertwine relationships with contacts and travel agencies to achieve publicity and attract more international and national tourists throughout the year.

He mentioned that -for example- German and Mexican travelers have a vacation calendar in the first days of April, so they expect more tourists from those origins to arrive during the upcoming high season of Easter Week.

“Having been at the International Tourism Fair in Berlin and being at the Tianguis Turístico are important events where we must always be present as a tourist destination Tulum and Riviera Maya in general, to take advantage of all the contacts and publicity that can be made and attract more tourists both international and national throughout the year,” he added.

For his part, Alejandro Escalante Peraza, tour salesman, stated that during these vacations they expect visitors with greater purchasing power to arrive so that the economic benefit will favor all the commercial sectors of the downtown, coastal and community areas.

He pointed out that since the end of February the flow of tourists has dropped and with it the profits, but they hope to recover for the first two weeks of next April, which coincide with the Holy Week holiday.

“It is correct, we are already waiting for the Holy Week season, with the best intention of improving our sales numbers. Let’s hope that visitors with greater purchasing power will come so that we can all do better,” he stressed.
