National Guard and Army deploy large operation for massive event in Tulum

The Mexican government, through the National Guard, deployed an extensive surveillance operation in the tourist area of Tulum, particularly for a massive electronic music event.

Likewise, surveillance was reinforced in Cancun’s hotel zone, as well as in criminal areas, including Villas Otoch through foot and vehicle patrols, maintaining presence and deterring criminal acts.

In an information card accessed by Infoqroo news agency, on the occasion of the “Tomorrow Land” musical event taking place in Tulum and in order to ensure the safety of the attending public and maintain security in vulnerable areas of Cancun, the Mexican Army and the National Guard sent units to different points.

The report states that security checks and security are applied on access routes to the event in Tulum, as well as in the tourist area through patrols on foot and in vehicles, maintaining presence and deterring criminal acts.

At the beginning of the year and in view of the organization of the Tomorrowland electronic music festival in Tulum, where more than 10 thousand people are expected to attend, the hotel sector is confident that security measures will be reinforced to guarantee the integrity of the attendees, said David Ortiz, president of the Hotel Association.

The leader stated that this event attracts people from all over the world and is held in different countries, so he called on the authorities to take the necessary measures for the event to be carried out properly.

“It is necessary that it is carried out with the same care as in other cities around the world, since it is an event of which about 10 thousand attendees are expected. That requires a lot of order to ensure the safety of visitors,” he insisted.

David Ortiz made it clear that Tulum as a destination has activities and places that make it attractive, so he emphasized that it does not require the festival to attract tourism.

According to information gathered, Tomorrowland is one of the most important electronic music festivals and is part of the Zamna Festival.

The party took place last night, January 14, 2023, at the well-known ‘Core’ stage of the festival, which became an important meeting point for fans of this music genre around the world. (Agencia SIM)
