AMLO reports Maya Train test run from Merida to Cancun in July

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The section of Maya Train that will run from Merida to Cancun will be tested in July. On Monday, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that in July of 2023, Maya Train testing will begin before its inauguration in December of 2023.

“The testing period of a section will begin in July. We are seeing if we start from Merida to Cancun in July for the tests – without a doubt Merida to Cancun – and it could also be Tulum and Chetumal since we are going to be very advanced by then – and then by December – everything,” he said referring to the inauguration of the entire Maya Train project.

In his Monday morning press conference, the president explained that the first wagons manufactured in Ciudad Sahagún, Hidalgo, will be delivered during that same month.
