Mystika’s Last Call in Tulum Before Nationwide Tour

TULUM, Mexico – Mystika, a captivating sensory experience designed by visual artist Pepe Soho, offers a unique journey into the heart of Maya cosmology. This immersive exhibit, which has enchanted visitors in Tulum with its blend of natural beauty and spiritual connection through the power of horses, is preparing to transition into a national touring exhibition, with Mexico City announced as its next destination.

The installation, which will remain in Tulum until April 7th, invites local, national, and international tourists to embark on a transformative journey. Through seven immersive experiences and a collection of 45 large-format photographs, Mystika leads participants on a personal reconstruction path against the backdrop of Mexico’s most stunning natural landscapes.

Mystika Immersive emerges from a decade of travel and preparation by Soho. It weaves together photography with other artistic and technological mediums, such as video, animation, music, infinity mirror rooms, and 360-degree domes. The project underscores the importance of rekindling our ancestral bond with nature and urges us to embrace and care for it.

Among the installations, Maya pays homage to Mesoamerican cosmology, featuring “Ascension,” a sensory space where viewers can marvel at the grand pyramid of Chichén Itzá under a starry sky. “Poem,” a surreal multi-sensory sound installation, captures scenes from the Lacandon Jungle in Chiapas. “Liberation” celebrates the majestic spirit of the horse, which guided Soho through healing and self-discovery, while “Coming Home” emphasizes content that elevates, liberates, and transforms the human spirit.

“Manifest” is an installation designed to inspire visitors to visualize and affirm their deepest desires, opening doors to new perspectives. “Sanctuary,” on the other hand, allows audiences to appreciate the beauty of three Mexican natural sanctuaries: the Monarch Butterfly Reserve in Michoacán, the Humpback Whale Sanctuary in Baja California Sur, and the Firefly Sanctuary in Tlaxcala.
