Mayan poetry book written by children to be presented in Tulum
Native Mayan children from the town of Chachen Primero, will present this coming Saturday, March 25, the book Poesía Maya (Mayan Poetry).
Stefany Aguilar, coordinator of the event, informed that this is a poetry book where children express their feelings through simple phrases related to nature.
The book will have a print run of more than 500 copies and will be on sale to raise funds that will go to the foundation “Rodando con Causa”, led by Sandy Cruz Montalvo, a social entrepreneur from “Los Amigos Tulum”.
Book will help develop the Mayan community
The coordinator explained that the “Rodando con Causa” foundation is made up of a group of volunteers who are supporting the development of the Mayan community of Chanchen Primero.
“This is the mission of Rodando con Causa, thanks to the commitment and nobility we have been able to positively impact the lives of more than a thousand children and their families,” she said.
He added that they are working on the construction of an empowerment center for children, which will impact more than 300 infants in the Mayan communities of Tulum.
Presentation of the book Poesía Maya
Stefany Aguilar indicated that the launching of the book Poesía Maya will be next Saturday, March 25 at 3:00 p.m., at the Central Park Lagunas facilities.
This event will be a fundraising tool and will allow to continue with the project of building a school.
He also invited citizens to join the mission for the realization of this event, as well as monetary or in-kind donations.
He assured that every peso raised will have a purpose of help, love, happiness, smiles and an experience that will completely change the perception and life of the little ones, motivating them to be their best version, giving them hope, security and encouraging them to be leaders of tomorrow.
