TULUM, Mexico—In a significant move to bolster security ahead of the Easter holiday season, Tulum’s Safety Cabinet, encompassing three levels of government and the business sector, has pledged to fortify the beloved tourist destination. This collaborative effort, initiated by orders from Quintana Roo’s Governor, Mara Lezama, brings together a diverse group committed to ensuring Tulum’s safety and prosperity.
The Coordination Group for the Construction of Peace and Security in Quintana Roo gathered in Tulum, showcasing a unified front among municipal authorities led by Diego Castañón Trejo, entrepreneurs, and hoteliers. This assembly marked a significant commitment from all social sectors and government levels to continue their efforts to enhance Tulum’s security and justice procurement.

The business sector’s representation included Julio Villarreal Zapata, President of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac), and David Ortiz Mena, President of the Tulum Hotel Association.
