An accident involving a trailer carrying yogurt containers and a public transport van, owned by the Unión Nacional de Transportistas del Cambio (Untrac), occurred on Saturday evening on the Tulum-Felipe Carrillo Puerto highway, resulting in two injuries and a case of robbery.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred at around 6:00 p.m., at the Tres Reyes village located to the north of this municipality.

Witnesses reported that the trailer was zigzagging to such an extent that it ended up partially off the asphalt; however, its driver, while trying to rejoin, overturned on the road, impacting, in that movement, the front part of a van that had slowed down to avoid the collision.

Later, paramedics from the Red Cross and the Amber Cross arrived at this point to transport to a hospital the only two people who were seriously injured.
Subsequently, the crashed trailer was hijacked, apparently by motorists and the passengers of the van.

Finally, the National Guard took charge of the accident, which generated long lines of motorists on this stretch of road, as the heavy unit had not yet been removed at the 9:00 p.m. cut-off time.
