Green Key Certified Hotel Ana y José: a haven of sustainability in Tulum’s paradise

The Foundation for Environmental Education in Mexico, with over 3,100 recognized establishments in 66 countries, has added Hotel Ana y José in Tulum to its list of internationally certified Green Key hotels, recognizing its environmental responsibility and sustainable operations in the hospitality industry.

The hotel has implemented good waste management practices and has successfully reduced its CO2 emissions by 49 percent compared to the average for the Boutique segment it belongs to, thus contributing to environmental conservation.

Roberto Castro, Director of Operations at Hotel Ana y José, expressed the hotel’s commitment to the well-being of its employees, the planet, and the prosperity of the inhabitants of Quintana Roo.

He welcomed the global recognition in sustainable tourism and emphasized that the Soto family, the hotel’s founders, are not only committed to achieving excellence in all aspects of the hotel’s operations and services, but also to contributing to environmental conservation.

The Green Key program aims to generate Positive Change Agents in the hotel sector through environmental education, and it is expanding in Tulum to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
