TULUM, Mexico – Tulum is gearing up for its participation in the second International Magic Towns Fair, set to take place from September 22 to 24 in Los Angeles, California, according to Giovanny Balam Andrade, the Municipal Director of Tourism.

He revealed that Tulum will be part of the Mexican Caribbean Pavilion, alongside Isla Mujeres, Bacalar, the newly designated magical town of Cozumel, and the Magic Neighborhood of Chetumal.

“Tulum is ready; we have plenty of activities prepared for this fair. We already have some appointments scheduled to engage and collaborate with tour operators from the region, such as California and the entire United States, our primary travelers who come to visit us. We are well-prepared to participate,” he stated.

Andrade highlighted the destination’s rich cultural heritage, with its Mayan zone, the transitional area, Punta Allen, the crown jewel of Tulum, and Akumal. These attractions will be promoted through both printed and digital materials. He explained that they do not have a specific goal in mind, but they are confident in Tulum’s success because it is currently the top destination in Quintana Roo.

“We don’t have an exact target, but Tulum is trending; it’s one of the top magical towns, and I dare say it’s number one in Quintana Roo. It’s not just my opinion; it’s backed by statistics, and we believe we will achieve great success,” emphasized the official.

He also mentioned that they will work hand in hand with Maribel Cruz, the Director of Promotion and Gender Perspective Integration, who has been a crucial advocate in the field of tourism promotion. She has been actively involved in empowering women, having recently concluded an embroidery workshop for women from the Mayan community in Tulum.

“I believe this Tourism Fair will be historic because, at the end of the day, we will promote our town, our ejidos, all our natural tourist attractions, and especially our Mayan zone, where our people reside, which is truly the heart of our destination. The Mayan area will echo in this Tourism Fair we are hosting in Los Angeles, California,” he added.
