Starting January 11, 2025, this route will connect Detroit with Tulum International Airport “Felipe Carrillo Puerto,” offering ten weekly flights and solidifying Tulum as a preferred destination for tourists worldwide.

Bernardo Cueto Riestra, head of SEDETUR, remarked, “This new route will facilitate access to the beaches and the ancient Mayan culture, strengthening the connectivity between the United States and the Mexican Caribbean.” This development is seen as a substantial boost for the state, enhancing its appeal to international tourists.

Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa highlighted that this flight is part of the New Agreement for the Welfare and Development of Quintana Roo, which aims to bring prosperity and social justice to all families in the state through tourism promotion.
