New cultural, tourist, and sports facilities open in Tulum with an investment of over $75 million

The Municipality of Tulum has opened three new facilities, the Yáana Ha’ Museum, the Pok Ta Pok Sports Center, and the Community Development Center, that will serve as a hub for cultural, tourist, and sports activities in the Mayan Caribbean capital. The Secretary of Agrarian, Territorial, and Urban Development (SEDATU) of the Government of Mexico, Román Meyer Falcón, and the Municipal President of Tulum, Diego Castañón Trejo, supervised the opening of these new facilities on Saturday morning.

With an investment of over $75,000,000 pesos since 2020, the aim of these facilities is to provide cultural and sports services to the people of Tulum. The Yáana Ha’ Museum offers an underwater view of the paradise of Tulum, and this is the first time that such an exhibit has been available. The Pok Ta Pok Sports Center and the Community Development Center are expected to become popular destinations for tourists and locals alike.

Updating Municipal Urban Development Program

The SEDATU and the municipal government are working together to update the Municipal Urban Development Program. Additionally, the progress of the “El Jaguar” National Park, which is a conservation project that aims to protect 1,000 hectares of jungle, is being monitored. The perimeter fence has already been completed for this project.

Investment in Tulum’s Future

According to the Municipal President, with the support of the Mexican government, Mr. Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and Governor Mara Lezama, Tulum will continue to be a favorite paradise in the Caribbean. There are currently 15 member states and five associate members in the Mayan Caribbean.

Mayor Castañón Trejo expressed his appreciation for Governor Lezama’s efforts and stated that he would invite her to the opening of the Museum, the Sports Center, and the Community Development Center in the coming days. He also highlighted that Tulum offers various cultural and recreational activities and that these new facilities will expand the range of activities available to both locals and visitors.

The opening of these new facilities is a testament to Tulum’s commitment to invest in its future and offer visitors and locals alike a wide range of cultural and sports activities.
