Tulum’s Mayor Unveils Groundbreaking Infrastructure Project, Paving the Way for Progress

TULUM, Quintana Roo – In a remarkable ceremony held yesterday morning, Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo officially marked the commencement of street paving works in the municipal area of Tulum. This ambitious initiative represents an unparalleled investment in urban infrastructure, aimed at meeting the demands of the citizens and revolutionizing the city’s aesthetics.

Addressing the crowd, Mayor Castañón emphasized his administration’s commitment to delivering projects that have a profound social impact and positively transform the city’s thoroughfares. “Our goal is to demonstrate to the citizens that, under our administration, mobility improves, and projects like this are of vital importance because they give a fresh new look to our city. We don’t just make promises; we focus on action, and we want people to know that we work day in and day out for them,” he affirmed.

Santos Hipólito Tuz Chi, the Director of Public Works Monitoring, provided technical details about the project, highlighting that the total investment for street paving in the municipal headquarters amounts to $11,991,460.68 Mexican pesos. This infrastructure improvement is expected to benefit 28,328 residents in the area and encompasses a series of operations, including layout, leveling, clearing, earthworks supply and preparation, application of stable cationic emulsion-based impregnation irrigation, and the formation of an asphalt layer spanning 1.3 kilometers.

The Mayor was accompanied at the ceremony by several municipal officials, including the Syndic Maria Teresa Arana Sánchez, Councilor Martín Dzib Chimal, the Director General of Public Infrastructure, Carlos Efraín Yama Moguel; Lorenzo Bernabé Miranda, the Director General of Sustainable Urban Territorial Development; Jesús Alberto Sandy Interian, the Director General of Municipal Planning; the Controller Aracely Díaz García; the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Ricardo Morales Santos, and the Director General of Public Services, José Audomaro Solís Pacheco.
