Nearly 200 million pesos were invested in five projects that contemplate environmental preservation and the proper use of natural resources.
The Ministry of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu) invested close to 200 million pesos (mdp) in five works carried out through the Urban Improvement Program (PMU) in neighborhoods with the greatest urban backwardness, which have already been delivered to the government municipality for its maintenance.
The projects carried out in Bacalar are: the construction of the Ecopark in the Bacalar Lagoon and the Municipal Market, library and sports field.
As well as the renovation of the Central Park and its surroundings; the Zona Centro baseball field; and the municipal spa.
The head of Sedatu, Román Meyer Falcón, emphasized that all the works carried out in the municipality contemplate environmental preservation and the proper use of natural resources.
“The projects generated local employment, increasing people’s well-being in the process,” he said.
“In addition, the works adhere to the natural context and promote tourism and well-being of the people,” said the official.
The works in Bacalar started in June 2021 and were delivered to the municipality between February and November of this year.
Through the PMU, the National Housing Commission (Conavi) from 2020 to date has carried out 736 housing actions with an investment of more than 46 million pesos.
