Tulum Mayor Connects Residents to Vital Services through “Presidente Cerca de Ti”

TULUM, Quintana Roo – In Tulum’s Guerra de Castas neighborhood, the “Presidente Cerca de Ti” initiative, spearheaded by Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo’s administration, achieved resounding success by bringing the services of 38 municipal departments closer to the community.

On Thursday, the mayor and his cabinet organized a comprehensive session to address the needs of the residents in the Fraccionamiento area. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with the most in-demand services being public lighting, public security, and access to clean drinking water.

A visibly enthusiastic Mayor Diego Castañón expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing series of service campaigns, which have already reached five neighborhoods and included seven neighborhood walks. In each location, residents have warmly embraced the initiative, taking advantage of the opportunity to resolve administrative matters and request various services.

In addition to activating rehabilitation and cleaning efforts in local parks, Mayor Castañón personally engages with housewives, workers, professionals, and others, ensuring that their concerns are heard. For the majority, their grievances are promptly addressed, while in other cases, the mayor refers them to the appropriate departments under the guidance of his competent staff.

The mayor further confirmed that this Friday, a neighborhood walk will take place in Punta Allen, extending the reach of the initiative. In the following week, the administration plans to visit the Marites and Cristal neighborhoods, providing valuable services to those communities as well.

Through “Presidente Cerca de Ti,” Mayor Diego Castañón and his team continue to make tangible efforts to bridge the gap between the municipal government and the people of Tulum. By actively engaging with residents and addressing their needs, this initiative has become an instrumental platform for positive change and improvement in the city.
