TULUM, México – Diego Castañón Trejo, the municipal president of Tulum, recently initiated three significant projects to enhance the daily lives of 33,374 residents. These developments underscore a broader strategy to bolster Tulum’s infrastructure and cater to its growing population.

The projects include paving Avenida La Selva, constructing a central median in its initial phase, and installing new public lighting along the same avenue. At the inaugural ceremony, Mayor Castañón Trejo expressed that these initiatives fulfill a long-standing desire of Tulum’s citizens and affirm the municipality’s commitment to reinvest every peso into local infrastructure, enhancing neighborhood services and improving vehicular flow.

The installation of public lighting on Avenida La Selva represents a significant step forward, with an investment of 7,991,364.17 pesos from Faismun. This project spans 2,213.50 linear meters and includes 71 new lighting fixtures designed to enhance safety and visibility along this vital thoroughfare. Furthermore, the construction of the central median will beautify the avenue and make it more pedestrian-friendly, with a budget of 5,498,316.03 pesos funded by Ramo 28.

The most extensive project is paving Avenida La Selva between Avenidas 5 and 10 Norte. This undertaking, which cost 2,989,483.04 pesos from municipal coffers, aims to significantly improve traffic flow, benefiting both local commuters and tourists visiting this bustling area.

Mayor Castañón Trejo emphasized the ongoing need to develop infrastructure that meets the community’s needs, stays true to prior commitments, and positively impacts the quality of life in Tulum. “Each project is a building block for a more functional and aesthetically pleasing Tulum,” he noted during his speech.
