Tulum’s El Jaguar Ecological Park to receive support in 2023

Sedatu informs that this year the new Natural Protected Area called El Jaguar Park in the ninth municipality -Tulum- will have support for the projects to be developed in the area, which will be one of the most important attractions in the north of Quintana Roo.

The year 2023 will be the year in which the new Natural Protected Area (NPA), the so-called El Jaguar Park in the ninth municipality of Tulum, will receive the most support, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Development. Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu), which detailed the projects to be developed in the area that will serve as an attraction for visitors to the north of Quintana Roo.

Among the new works included in the project are the construction of a market and trails for the internal mobility of those who visit the protected natural area, which also includes a “Center for services and equipment”.

Another part of the project highlights that, as an important part of the retail distribution chain, the project seeks to satisfy the needs of the middle and lower strata of the population, who will be the main beneficiaries of the project, as they are the ones located in this residential zone.

This, according to the requirements set forth in the terms of reference of the contract, published together with the call for the two public bids for the works to be carried out as part of the natural protected area project to be located in the municipality of Tulum, which is about to be detonated.

As for the other works in El Jaguar Park, it is estimated that there will be a roadway for internal transportation and a shared bicycle path, as well as a pedestrian walkway; in addition to being complemented with five modules that function as a transportation stop and as a service for the beaches in the area, as described.

The trails in the park of the protected natural area will help to integrate the archeological zones and sites of interest within El Jaguar Park; “where the intervention in the beach zone is minimal, considering only landscape, furniture and signage in the sandy areas”, it is clarified.

Another of the innovations will be the placement of a wind rose, as a sonorous and ludic instrument; besides having walkable environments and of positive influence to improve the health of those who attend these places to the practice of physical and mental activities mainly.
