Eco-Bahía Foundation’s Impactful Earth Month Celebrates Planet’s Sustainability

The Ecological Eco-Bahia Foundation, in line with one of its main programs, “Environmental Education and Outreach,” presented the “Conscious Cinema” project, which invites participants to the Tumben Lu’um Nature Interpretation Center to witness various documentaries that make us reflect on the importance of caring for the planet.

By merging the objectives of our programs “Conservation of Natural Areas,” “Wildlife Protection,” and “Environmental Education,” we carried out the “Urban Naturalist Challenge-Tulum.” This initiative aims to involve volunteers in documenting biodiversity. To achieve this, we designed special routes through the areas of Bahia Principe Complex and Tulum Country Club Residential. Since Eco-Bahia registered the entire municipality of Tulum on iNaturalist, the invitation was extended to the public to record flora and fauna. It is an active way of practicing citizen science, learning, and connecting with nature.

“Now is the time to reflect and strengthen the actions we take every day to care for our planet. We can all contribute by making small but meaningful efforts, approaching nature with empathy, and preserving our one and only home,” stated Yuritzi Espino, Manager of the Ecological Eco-Bahia Foundation.

The founder, Pablo Piñero, recognized the significance of respecting and preserving the surrounding environment in order to offer a distinct and top-notch tourist destination.

As its inaugural undertaking, the foundation focused on managing the ‘Program for the Protection and Conservation of Marine Turtles in the Central Coast of Quintana Roo.’ This initiative was driven by the paramount importance of the beach where the hotel project is situated, as a nesting site for marine turtles—one of the most crucial locations in the state of Quintana Roo.

We invite you to join the “We Are Ecoists” movement.
