During the Thirty-Third Ordinary Session of the City Council, the trustee and aldermen led by the municipal president, Marciano Dzul Caamal, approved the program of municipal sports scholarships and school scholarships for the benefit of children and young people from Tulum.
“With the objective of benefiting with economic support 25 athletes with a maximum age of 25 years old, residents of Tulum, who are part of the municipal sports academies, as well as the inclusion of low-income athletes in the support provided by this agreement will be on equal opportunities, so without distinction of gender, disability, social status and religions or preferences to continue with their sports training and remain as high-performance athletes, “was detailed in the session led by the mayor.
With the approval of the Cabildo, the Tulum City Hall will spend a monthly amount of $50,000 pesos and will be from January to December 2023, distributed to 25 beneficiaries each for the amount of $2,000 pesos.
Likewise, the Cabildo approved the municipal scholarship program for the 2022-2023 school year for the benefit of 605 students of the municipality of Tulum who are in elementary, middle, high school and higher education for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years, distributed as follows:
- 355 elementary school students
- 205 secondary school students
- 45 middle and high school students
At the end of the session, the municipal treasurer, Diego Castañón Trejo, was authorized for the financial adjustments of the municipality.
