A tourist in Tulum suffered a serious fall from a balcony in poor condition, which led her to spend part of her vacation in a hospital, after being left with several injuries.
The events occurred at the Vesica cenote in Tulum, when this young woman from the State of Mexico, identified as Maria Fernanda, 30 years old, fell approximately 3 meters from a balcony in poor condition inside the tourist site.
The national tourist mentioned that she leaned on the wooden railing, which gave way to the weight and being in poor condition, it ended up breaking causing the fall and it was the same people who were in the water, who helped to rescue her.
Tulum Civil Protection personnel and police officers arrived at the scene of the incident, who confirmed that the young woman suffered a blow to the skull with possible trauma, in addition to the two lower extremities with possible trauma to the tibia and fibula.
Cenote closed after tourist falls in cenote
The cenote where the events occurred, which operates as a restaurant, does not have lifeguards or the corresponding safety measures of civil protection, so the authorities proceeded to close it for not presenting the corresponding safety protocols.
The woman had to be taken to a hospital in Playa del Carmen, where her injuries were treated.
