TULUM, Mexico – In a momentous official ceremony, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa proudly inaugurated the Secrets Tulum Resort & Beach Club in Tulum, Quintana Roo. Boasting 326 rooms, this new establishment is set to create over 500 direct job opportunities and approximately 2,000 indirect employment opportunities. The unveiling of this hotel mirrors investors’ confidence in Tulum’s sustained growth.
In the company of Fabián Gómez Sáenz, President of the Sunset Tulum Council, and Jorge Pérez, President and CEO of Related Group, Governor Lezama underscored the significance of this investment, aligning it with other substantial projects like the Tren Maya and the Tulum International Airport. These initiatives aim to enhance the influx of visitors to the region.
Governor Mara Lezama expressed the government’s commitment to facilitating investment and promoting sustainable growth for the benefit of the community. She emphasized the importance of shared prosperity, trusting that the success of tourism will translate into tangible improvements in the quality of life for the workers in the sector.
Acknowledging Grupo Santa Fe for their investment and contribution to job creation, the governor highlighted the positive impact on the lives of Quintana Roo residents. She pointed out that Quintana Roo leads in Foreign Direct Investment in Tourism, having attracted $675.6 million in the first three quarters of the year, according to data from the Ministry of Economy.
The opening ceremony featured the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, the unveiling of a commemorative statue, and speeches from Mayor Diego Castañón, Fabián Gómez, and Jorge Pérez. The presence of State Tourism Secretary Bernardo Cueto Riestra and the honorary president of the DIF Quintana Roo, Verónica Lezama Espinosa, further accompanied the governor at this event. The Secrets Tulum stands out as a significant addition to the state’s tourist profile, solidifying its appeal as an investment destination.
