TULUM, México – Amidst his visit to the captivating landscapes of Quintana Roo over the weekend, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador delved into the operations of the burgeoning Tulum International Airport, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, which he noted has witnessed an impressive surge of over 55% in its advancements.
The occasion was gracefully captured by the governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama, who shared glimpses of a tour with the esteemed leader on her social media platform. “As part of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s comprehensive exploration of the monumental Tren Maya project, we undertook an insightful assessment of the strides being made in the construction of the cutting-edge Tulum International Airport. This remarkable endeavor has progressed by leaps and bounds, with a remarkable achievement of more than 55%,” she enthusiastically conveyed.
“Amidst our meticulous oversight of the Tren Maya, we invariably pay homage to the chaneque, aluxe, or mischievous duende, who have become an integral part of our tradition. Furthermore, we honor the guardian spirit of the Bacalar Lagoon,” President López Obrador remarked poetically.
Accompanying President López Obrador was Javier May, the director of the National Fund for Tourism Development (Fonatur). May not only joined the president in admiring the resplendence of the Bacalar Lagoon but also highlighted President López Obrador’s broadened interests.
“Through the Tulum Aeropuerto, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, and Bacalar stations, located within the sixth phase of the transformative Tren Maya, we are set to immerse ourselves in the enchanting expanse of Quintana Roo’s archaeological wonders, pristine nature, and vibrant traditions. The dawn of the social justice train approaches, carrying the beacon of well-being and prosperity across the entirety of southeastern Mexico,” the governor reiterated passionately.
Governor Lezama emphasized the collaborative synergy between the state government and the federal authorities, underscoring their joint efforts to foster novel medical and urban infrastructure. She outlined a vision where this synergistic endeavor would perpetuate growth and prosperity while ensuring the welfare of the populace.
Furthermore, during the president’s visit, Governor Lezama received Ariadna Montiel Reyes, the head of the Ministry of Well-being in Chetumal. Together, they diligently strategized to integrate the underprivileged segments of society into the welfare programs. Their mission, resonating with the essence of justice and prosperity, aims to uplift the lives of those most in need.
In a momentous milestone, Mara Lezama, alongside Víctor Martínez Bolaños, the President of the Institute of Administration and Appraisals of National Assets, placed the symbolic cornerstone in Chetumal. This heralded the inception of the first Shared Federal Building in Quintana Roo, designed to enhance connectivity and amplify governmental services to the populace.
Governor Lezama elucidated the vision behind this grand undertaking. “Boasting a substantial investment of 75 million pesos, this state-of-the-art edifice will stand as an emblem of modernity and sustainability. Its robust infrastructure will house an impressive workforce of 275 public servants, equipped with cutting-edge technology to deliver indispensable services to the citizens. A resounding echo of social justice, this initiative is a testament to the commitment of the quintanarroenses. With the unwavering support of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the heart of our capital city shall never again fade into oblivion.”
