New vehicles purchased to improve security and citizen attention in Tulum

A few days after taking office as municipal president in Tulum, Diego Castañón Trejo, has shown his high social commitment, by delivering this Monday a new vehicle fleet that will strengthen the operations of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSYPC); Public Services; and administrative staff of the City Council, for the benefit of the people of Tulum.

Leading the vehicle delivery ceremony, Castañón Trejo, stressed that this is a result of teamwork and in memory of Marciano Dzul Caamal, it is his turn to deliver this important achievement for the benefit of Tulum.

“I am very proud that as treasurer and today as municipal president, commitments are fulfilled gentlemen. Today we deliver new units to our Secretariat of Public Safety and Citizen Protection, cars, motorcycles and ATVs equipped with the latest generation of equipment so that our elements can respond quickly to requests from citizens. These patrols are an important step in our fight against crime and violence in our city. A safe Tulum that welcomes citizens with open arms. The rear load garbage collection trucks, the ecological sweeper and the pipe allow us to beautify our city, give an image to Tulum and consolidate us as a city worth visiting,” he said.

He emphasized that the units acquired will be work tools to provide quality public services to families, knowing that Tulum is growing and with them, social demands.

“We need to keep up with the demands in public infrastructure and services for all sectors of society that make up this community. I am committed to work to make this happen. I need everyone so that we can walk hand in hand along a firm path,” he said, while acknowledging the support and political will of Governor Mara Lezama.

Antonio Miranda Miranda, the Mayor of the City Hall, explained that on this occasion the City Hall is investing more than 64 million pesos from the 28th branch of Federal Participations and the Environmental Sanitation Law.

Three areas benefited

For the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the following were acquired:

  • 5 automobiles (patrol cars)
  • 2 automobiles for intelligence work (patrol cars)
  • 10 Suzuki motorcycles
  • 2 ATVs
  • 10 bicycles

Regarding the operative tasks of the City Hall:

  • 9 pick-up trucks
  • 1 pickup truck, three tons

To improve public service in the city, the following were delivered:

  • 8 garbage collection trucks
  • 1 tank truck, pipe type with a capacity of 10 thousand liters
  • 1 ecological sweeper

At the same time, the mayor symbolically handed over each unit to the heads of the different areas of the municipal public administration, urging them to work responsibly and professionally for the benefit of the people who live in and visit Tulum.

The mayor was accompanied by Congresswoman Silvia Dzul Sanchez, Councilors David Tah Balam, Martin Dzib Chimal, Carlos Coral Basurto and administration officials.
