Miguel Torruco anticipates tourism growth in Tulum
From the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) being held in Madrid, Spain, Miguel Torruco Marqués, Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, highlighted that Tulum’s new international airport and the construction of a Tren Maya train station will boost the destination’s growth.
He said that the new air terminal will have capacity for four million tourists, which will increase the influx of visitors.
“The Cancun airport will be decongested, Tulum will be strengthened and, above all, the Tren Maya will be completed and will pass through a large station in Tulum, which will be a great detonator,” he said.
In that sense, he said that now it is necessary to work to develop the infrastructure that will be required for the growth of the ninth municipality of Quintana Roo.
“Very soon we will be there, because there is a program for painting, artistic murals and a series of activities that we are carrying out to strengthen,” he said.
Within this framework, the federal official announced that the second International Tianguis of Magical Towns will be organized in Los Angeles, United States, an event that will be attended by the 132 destinations that have this category in Mexico. (Agencia SIM)
