The restaurant sector in Merida has grown significantly in recent years, and on the other hand, what can be said about Tulum, “the jewel in the crown of the Mexican Caribbean”, and Siete Mares, a company that has recently emerged in the business, is seeking to capitalize on these opportunities to expand its presence, but it is doing so in a solid way.
With a restaurant operating in this city, under a seafood restaurant concept, mariachi music, but with comfort and elegance, Eduardo Mejía, general director of Siete Mares, pointed out that this innovative project includes three establishments, here in Cancún and in the short and medium term in Tulum and Mérida.
According to the businessman, they decided to open a second restaurant in Tulum in the coming months, as it is a fast-growing, fashionable destination, the “crown jewel” of the Mexican Caribbean, and they know it well from other businesses related to entertainment and tourism.
In the case of Merida, he said that both the capital of the neighboring state and a good part of the Yucatan coast are in a process of gastronomic growth, with the presence, not so much of franchises but of renowned chefs, so he predicted that in four or five years it will be something spectacular.
In fact, he mentioned that currently in Mérida there are seven or eight restaurants of high gastronomy, run by great chefs, who decided to establish themselves in that capital city.
He also mentioned that the project called “gastronomic corridor”, which will be in the downtown area, will be a very good idea, as it will preserve its identity, since it will not be like Quinta Avenida in Playa del Carmen, which is more of a party zone.
In his case, he mentioned that in his recent visit to Merida he had the opportunity to visit several good restaurants, with high average checks, like those in Tulum, which range from 2,500 to 5,000 pesos.
