With this plan, we aim to protect our people and our visitors, ensuring a destination where everyone feels secure,” Castañón stated.

“The mayor has a clear vision for the security of Tulum,” Rodríguez Bautista said, particularly as the town grows. In 2005, the population was under 10,000, but by 2024, the number had surpassed 46,000. With such an increase, the coordinated efforts of surveillance and intelligence will be crucial to ensuring the safety of both residents and tourists in this thriving destination.

As Tulum expands, the need for comprehensive security measures becomes increasingly vital. The local government and private sector partners remain dedicated to addressing these challenges head-on. Rodríguez Bautista concluded by noting that the safety of Tulum is not only about combating crime but also about sustaining the area’s economic growth by ensuring that visitors feel secure during their stay.
