AMLO pays another weekend visit to supervise Maya Train

Tulum, Q.R. — “The Maya Train is a project that is not being done anywhere in the world today. It is a source of pride for our civil and military engineering,” said President Andrés Manuel López Obrador after a visit to the area over the weekend.

During his latest flyover visit to supervise progress on his project, he verified the alternative, an elevated viaduct, implemented by the Secretary of National Defense with the aim of caring for the ecosystem in the section that includes that area.

He added that the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) assumes the rescue and preservation of the archaeological heritage located in the 1,550 kilometers of the route.

“It endorsed the commitment to inaugurate the Maya Train in 2024 with all the stations and infrastructure necessary for its operation, in addition to the Tulum International Airport,” he reported in a statement.
