Intensified police patrols on Tulum beaches

In view of the expectations of an important arrival of tourists, mainly foreigners “fleeing” the low temperatures in North America, and in order to prevent illegal actions, the authorities of Quintana Roo are maintaining their security mechanisms in its main beaches and meeting points.

In this sense, the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) announced that on this occasion it applied a surveillance operation on the beaches of Tulum in collaboration with the Coordination Group for the Construction of Peace and Security in Quintana Roo.

In a press release, it was indicated that the objective of this operation is to maintain public order, preserve peace and security in the beach areas.

The state corporation specified that in these actions they collaborated with the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR) to carry out foot-ground tours on the beaches of Tábano to the Mayan Arch of the tourist destination.

He added that during these patrols, security agents monitor the entire perimeter to prevent and detect illegal actions, in addition to applying social proximity with citizens and national and international tourists.

He added that the activities in Tulum and the upcoming operations will be constant during all tourist seasons of the year and constantly analyzed, however, citizens are urged to make their complaints to the emergency lines 911 or 089 for anonymous reports.
