TULUM, Mexico – In a landmark decision during the Fiftieth Ordinary Session of the Tulum City Council, led by Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo, a majority vote approved the exemption of property tax and penalties for the Riviera Maya Technological University. Additionally, the council validated the declaration of the “Langosta al Coco” dish as a signature delicacy of Punta Allen, the victor of the 2023 Lobster Festival.

During this Monday’s Ordinary Session, the council members, under the leadership of Mayor Diego Castañón, first voted in favor of waiving property tax and penalties for the Riviera Maya Technological University, specifically regarding the property identified by the cadastral code 109014000040004. The municipal treasurer, Vicente Aldape Moncada, was designated to oversee the necessary administrative procedures.
