TULUM , Quintana Roo – In a departure from his predecessor’s approach, the current municipal president of Tulum, Diego Castañón Trejo, recently held a productive meeting with Tulum Boca Paila hoteliers, forging a collaborative alliance to advance the destination’s prosperity. Among the key initiatives agreed upon, entrepreneurs and municipal authorities have devised a comprehensive plan to promote Tulum through globally recognized digital platforms frequented by travelers.
“Our aim is to launch a promotional campaign on renowned platforms such as Expedia and Booking, while also developing an efficient marketing strategy in collaboration with the sector,” highlighted the municipal president.
One of the primary objectives is to increase tourist arrivals to Tulum and ensure that all social sectors benefit from the hotel occupancy tax collected by the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council (CPTQ). Additionally, measures will be implemented to regulate the operating hours of bars and nightlife establishments.
“We want to ensure that our beautiful Tulum remains a paradise, which is why we have made it clear that there will be zero tolerance for those who disregard the established schedules or permitted noise levels,” emphasized the mayor.
Castañón and the hotel entrepreneurs reiterated their commitment to working together to sustain tourism growth in Tulum, one of Quintana Roo’s premier destinations.
“This unprecedented collaboration between our primary economic engine signifies our dedication to the Tulum tourism sector. We will rise to every challenge that comes our way. We will not rest until the jewel of the Mayan Caribbean becomes the most exquisite destination in our region,” underscored Mayor Diego Castañón.
As previously reported by The Tulum Times, Tulum continues to grapple with security concerns and violence, despite the efforts of the local government. Nevertheless, hoteliers are taking steps to bolster security within their properties, including the installation of additional surveillance cameras and the implementation of enhanced internal security measures to assist authorities in identifying any incidents.
