TULUM, Mexico – The municipal government of Tulum kicked off the Guadalupe Reyes 2023-2024 Security Operation this Friday, December 8th. This initiative will see the collaboration of forces from all three levels of government to ensure a delightful holiday season for visitors and local families.
In representation of Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo, Juan Manuel Castilla Jaimez, the General Director of Civil Protection and Firefighters, emphasized the objective of achieving a safe environment under the guidance of the Municipal Police, State Police, Army, National Guard, Navy, Firefighters, Civil Protection, Health Department, Transportation, and various other preventive agencies.
“I want to assure you that you can enjoy your vacations with peace of mind, as all security and emergency forces from the three levels of government are prepared to provide the attention and security you deserve. We have the support and instructions from our President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, our Governor, Mara Lezama Espinosa, and our Mayor, Diego Castañón Trejo, to always be alert and promptly address any reports,” stated the official.
Jessica Martinez Barrios, the Director of Civil Protection, underscored that the operation aims to safeguard the lives of both Tulum residents and tourists, striving to achieve the goal of an incident-free holiday season. Subsequently, municipal authorities and representatives of security forces proceeded to launch the Guadalupe Reyes operation with a ceremonial flag-off.
