Expo Turismo Sustentable Promotes Sustainable Domestic Travel in Tulum

TULUM, México – In the upcoming 14th edition of the Expo Turismo Sustentable, set to take place on September 9th, 10th, and 11th in Tulum, the focus will be on promoting domestic tourism within Mexico. Diego Alcántara, the president of the tourism committee of the Confederación Patronal de la República Mexicana (Coparmex) Riviera Maya, shared this information, highlighting the importance of creating a network of travel destinations within the country.

Coparmex is committed to promoting sustainability, and its tourism committee plays a vital role in encouraging businesses to adopt sustainable practices. Marc Pujol, the president of the Riviera Maya business center, also holds the position of national tourism committee president at Coparmex. This synergy between the two positions aims to drive sustainable tourism initiatives forward.

The objective of the Expo Turismo Sustentable is to gather representatives from Coparmex’s tourism committees across all 32 Mexican states to collaborate on boosting domestic tourism. The intention is to incentivize travel within the country, allowing resources to remain within Mexico and fostering a circular economy. “Through Coparmex and its members, we aim to promote sustainable domestic tourism,” emphasized Alcántara.

On September 9th, a networking event will take place at the Dreams hotel. This dynamic gathering will serve as a platform to present products, facilitate commercial exchanges, and showcase sustainable services.
