The ceremony was attended by Ms. Ileana Canul de Dzul, who would continue at the head of DIF-Tulum.

With today’s swearing-in ceremony, there are eight municipal presidents who have held the highest political office in Tulum from 2009 to the present. Marciano Dzul Caamal was the first of them and won reelection in 2021, with Castañón Trejo as his alternate.

In an interview with the media, Castañón Trejo ratified that Dzul Caamal’s project will continue.

“The agreements will remain the same. There will be no change in any position, only in the treasury, and we will continue walking, we will all continue united and well, all for Tulum. This is the legacy of the president, this is what he left us and we will respect it,” he said.
