TULUM, Mexico – In a decisive victory, Diego Castañón Trejo has been elected as the new Municipal President of Tulum, securing a substantial lead of 3,177 votes over his nearest competitor. With 14,958 votes, Castañón captured 52.91% of the voter turnout, marking a significant mandate from the citizens of Tulum.

The official results were declared after a meticulous count of ballots from the 80 polling stations across the municipality. In total, 27,643 votes were cast, with Castañón’s closest rival garnering 11,781 votes.
