Tulum Honors Mothers with Multitude of Surprises at Special Event

The celebration of Mother’s Day organized by the Tulum City Council and the Private Initiative was characterized by entertainment, gifts, music, and many other surprises. The event took place at the double dome of the Sports Unit, bringing together over 3,000 mothers who enjoyed an unparalleled moment.

As he formally began the celebration for mothers, the mayor, Diego Castañón, recognized and thanked the attendance of women and families from across the municipal geography.

As a surprise for the attendees, Mayor Diego Castañón announced that on May 29th, Tulum will celebrate its 15th Anniversary with a grand concert by Los Ángeles Azules, an event that will be completely free.

“We are on the right track. This is just a little bit of what all of you deserve. I appreciate your presence. I also thank my entrepreneur friends who made this a reality and, above all, a woman who is like all of you, the first governor of the State, Mara Lezama, a social fighter who is always on the lookout for us in this municipality and who today asked me to greet and congratulate you on her behalf,” said Diego Castañón while receiving empathy from the attendees.

The massive social gathering had the support of District IX Deputy Silvia Dzul Sánchez, Municipal Syndic, María Teresa Arana Sánchez, Councilors David Tah Balam, Carlos Coral Basulto, Eva Rosely Rocha Geded, Secretary General Jorge Portilla Mánica, the daughters of former President Marciano Dzul, Esmeralda and Perla Dzul Zamora, and Edgardo Díaz.

In her speech, Deputy Dzul Sánchez recognized the value of the women of Tulum who are drivers of development and who, from their trenches, dignify families. She expressed her recognition to all of them and reaffirmed that, in unity, the authorities work for the good of society.

“Today we are here to recognize those fighting women, those women who are examples, those women who strive every day to be a better mother, that effort and dedication can only be given by you. Today we are celebrating all of you,” she said.

Later, the mothers participated in a raffle for gifts.

The Mother’s Day program featured the performance of impersonator Pierre David and, to top it off, the musical group El Boom also performed, with whom the celebrated mothers danced, sang, and enjoyed every moment.
