TULUM, México — Electronic music fans are in for a thrilling experience as Anyma, the Italian mastermind behind some of the most cutting-edge melodic techno, expands his residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. Citing “astonishing sell-out” for the initial six shows, Sphere has added two additional performances on January 11 and January 12, bringing the total run to eight. This follows last week’s announcement that Anyma will headline Ultra 2025 in Miami, performing alongside Solomun in their first-ever back-to-back (b2b) set, marking another significant milestone in his rapidly growing career.
A Growing Demand and Additional Dates
In response to overwhelming demand, three more dates have also been added to Anyma’s Las Vegas performances: December 27, December 28, and January 1. This brings his total number of shows at the Sphere to six. These new dates are in addition to the already announced New Year’s Eve show on December 31 and performances on December 29 and 30. Tickets for these events will be sold at the same price as the NYE show, with the presale starting on July 22 and the general sale on July 23.
This rapid expansion of dates reflects the incredible interest in Anyma’s unique audiovisual performances, which have been meticulously crafted to suit Sphere’s tech-forward venue. Live Nation, the promoter behind the show, attributes the increased number of dates to the show’s widespread appeal and high demand. The additional shows provide more opportunities for fans to experience this one-of-a-kind event and help maximize the return on investment (ROI) for all involved parties.
Who is Anyma?
Anyma is the solo project of Italian producer Matteo Milleri, who is also one-half of the globally renowned electronic duo Tale of Us. Known for his avant-garde approach to music production, Anyma specializes in melodic techno that explores technology, nature, and humanity themes. The forthcoming Las Vegas performances will showcase the Genesys show, marking the final time it will be performed live. Titled Afterlife Presents Anyma: The End of Genesys, these shows are expected to be the ultimate representation of his cutting-edge work, combining immersive visuals with deep, atmospheric soundscapes. Special guests will also be announced as the event draws closer.
The Genesys tour is named after Anyma’s 2023 debut album, Genesys, and its 2024 follow-up, Genesys II. Both albums and live performances delve into complex themes of evolution, coexistence, and the intersection between nature and technology. These conceptual explorations are mirrored in the immersive visuals that have become a signature of Anyma’s shows, particularly those under the Afterlife brand, the label Tale of Us, founded in 2016.
Afterlife: A visionary label
Since its inception, Afterlife has garnered international acclaim for pushing the boundaries of electronic music. The label focuses heavily on visually stunning performances that take the audience on a journey through themes of consciousness and the future of humanity. The label’s showcases, especially those headlined by Tale of Us and Anyma, often sell out, reflecting its status as a global leader in electronic music.
Afterlife’s expansion into the U.S. market has been swift and successful, with sold-out performances at venues like the Los Angeles State Historic Park. In 2022, the label took a significant step forward by partnering with Interscope Records, a major music label. This deal gives Afterlife a more comprehensive distribution platform, ensuring that its releases, including Anyma’s work, reach global audiences. Under this partnership, all past and future Afterlife recordings will be distributed by Interscope, further solidifying Anyma’s place in the upper echelons of electronic music.
The Sphere: A venue like no other
Located in the entertainment capital of Las Vegas, the Sphere has quickly become a marquee venue for large-scale performances. Since its opening in September 2023, it has hosted high-profile residencies, including U2 and jam bands like Phish and Dead & Company. The $2.3 billion venue is a marvel of modern technology, offering a one-of-a-kind audiovisual experience that perfectly complements the immersive nature of Anyma’s Genesys show.
Interestingly, Anyma will be the first electronic music act to take the stage at Sphere, which has primarily focused on rock performances until now. The venue’s state-of-the-art technology is an ideal fit for Anyma’s visionary approach to live shows, and the performances are expected to set a new standard for what can be achieved at Sphere. The immersive visuals, paired with Anyma’s melodic techno, are set to transform the venue into a futuristic, multisensory experience for audiences.
What to expect from Anyma’s Las Vegas shows
Anyma’s Genesys performances are not your typical electronic music shows. They blend futuristic technology with deeply expressive music, offering a narrative that explores the human condition in the context of rapid technological advancement. Fans can expect a breathtaking visual journey synced with the music, creating a fully immersive experience that transcends the traditional concert format.
The show will also mark the conclusion of the Genesys chapter in Anyma’s career, adding an extra layer of significance for fans who have followed his journey from its beginnings. With special guests yet to be announced, these shows promise to be a landmark event in the electronic music world, solidifying Anyma’s place as one of the genre’s most innovative artists.
Electronic music meets Las Vegas
While Las Vegas has long been a hub for electronic music, particularly through festivals like the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), Sphere’s embrace of the genre marks a new chapter for the city’s entertainment landscape. Anyma’s headlining of this cutting-edge venue further cements his role as a forward-thinking artist, shaping the future of live electronic music performances.
The Sphere’s parent company, Sphere Entertainment Co, recently reported revenue of $170.4 million for the fiscal third quarter ending March 31, a strong indicator that the venue’s unique approach to live events is paying off. With shows like Anyma’s Genesys pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in live entertainment, Sphere is positioned to become a global destination for top-tier performances.
