TULUM, Mexico – The Mexican Association of Women Entrepreneurs (Amexme) led the pink lighting ceremony at the Aldea Zamá complex on the occasion of International Breast Cancer Awareness Day, which took place on October 19th.
Violeta Novelo Zapata, Vice President of Amexme’s Tulum chapter, announced their participation in this campaign by illuminating the entire path with pink lights.
“This event is to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Nationally, Amexme initiated a campaign to illuminate significant areas in the places we live,” she stated.
She emphasized that, in this case, it was in Block 12 of the residential complex Aldea Zamá. The purpose of this initiative is to raise awareness among women and sensitize them to this delicate issue, particularly for those going through this challenging situation.
“So, this campaign aims to raise awareness and sensitize us to be able to detect this disease in time. This event was made possible with the support of the committee and administrators of Block 12 in Aldea Zamá,” she explained.
Novelo Zapata also highlighted that, apart from these initiatives, they have a partnership with Amerimed, a company that offers mammography and breast ultrasound examinations to women, allowing for early detection of the disease.
This event in Aldea Zamá not only serves as a symbolic gesture but also as a reminder of the importance of early detection and the role everyone can play in the fight against breast cancer. By illuminating Aldea Zamá in pink, Amexme brings attention to this crucial issue and helps create a supportive community for those affected by breast cancer.
