TULUM, Mexico – From October 21st to 23rd, the 21st Sea Turtle Festival in the municipality of Tulum took place, marking a resounding success. This event has firmly established itself as a platform for integration and awareness regarding the vital importance of marine turtle conservation in the region. With the theme “Working Together with the Community for Sea Turtles,” this year’s festival brought together a diverse array of stakeholders committed to safeguarding these remarkable species.
The festival, hosted across three venues in Akumal, Tulum, and Xcacel, distinguished itself with its community-centered approach. Yuritzi Espino, Manager of the Ecological Foundation, one of the key organizations behind the event, expressed her enthusiasm about the festival’s outcome, stating, “We are proud to have been part of this wonderful celebration. Each year, the Sea Turtle Festival becomes a testament to our community’s dedication to protecting these special marine creatures.”
